Corporate Governance Roundtable

Regulation is moving faster than many corporate planning cycles. AI, data, tax, sustainability, competition, sanctions, tariffs and digital regulation now overlap in ways that affect strategy, cost, disclosure, market access and capital allocation. For Singapore companies, the challenge is especially acute because many operate across several regulatory systems at once: local rules, ASEAN markets, China exposure, US policy, EU sustainability requirements and global financial regulation. This session would examine how investors can distinguish real governance from compliance. Does the board receive integrated regulatory intelligence, or a set of disconnected legal updates? Does regulation shape business-model choices, technology investment, supply-chain design, disclosure and capital deployment? For investors, regulatory foresight is becoming a marker of governance quality. Stronger companies will use regulation as an input into strategy. Weaker companies will treat it as a reporting or compliance burden.
