U&US — Terms & Conditions
By submitting an application to the U&US Fashion Research & Mentorship Program, you confirm that you have read and agree to the following terms.
1. Eligibility
U&US is open to Nigerian female fashion designers who are either at the beginning of their creative practice or have up to five years of professional experience.
Applicants may be based in Nigeria or elsewhere, provided they identify as Nigerian.
You do not need to have a previously released collection, fashion label or commercial line to apply. We welcome designers at different stages of their creative journey.
2. Application Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- A short expression of interest
- 1–2 portfolio images
- Short 1 minute video
- Any other information requested in the application form
Applications must be submitted by the stated deadline. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.
3. Portfolio & Intellectual Property
The portfolio images submitted as part of the application are used solely for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating applications.
All submitted work remains the intellectual property of the applicant. Submitting your work to U&US does not transfer, assign or otherwise give U&US ownership of your designs, concepts, images or creative work.
Applicants confirm that the work they submit is their own or that they have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.
4. Privacy of Submissions
U&US will not publish, publicly share, reproduce or commercially use portfolio images or other creative materials submitted as part of an application.
Submitted materials will only be accessed by the U&US team and/or appointed selection panel for the purpose of evaluating applications and selecting participants.
5. Selection
Applications will be reviewed by the U&US team and/or appointed selection panel.
We will consider each applicant’s creative perspective, ideas, potential, motivation and alignment with the aims of the programme.
The selection process is competitive, and submitting an application does not guarantee selection.
Selection decisions are final.
6. Participation
Selected participants are expected to actively engage with the U&US Fashion Research & Mentorship Program and attend the agreed sessions and activities.
Further information regarding the programme, including dates, format and participation requirements, will be shared with selected participants.
7. Confidentiality
We recognise that applicants may submit work, ideas and research that have not yet been publicly released.
U&US will treat application materials with appropriate confidentiality and will not publicly disclose or publish submitted portfolio materials.
8. Programme Changes
U&US reserves the right to make reasonable changes to programme dates, format, mentors or activities where necessary.
In exceptional circumstances, the programme may be postponed, modified or cancelled.
9. Personal Data
Personal information collected through the application process will be used only for purposes connected to the U&US application and programme, including reviewing applications, communicating with applicants and administering the programme.
Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.
10. Agreement
By submitting an application, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to them.
