• 2026 – 2027 Unified Champion Schools Agreement

  • Participation in Unified Champion Schools is a catalyst for personal and collective growth within the school community. Through participation, students cultivate empathy, leadership skills and a sense of belonging. This agreement outlines the expectations for participating schools and the committed support of Special Olympics New Hampshire.

    This year, schools will have the opportunity to receive $500 in Unified Champion Schools grant funding, with the potential to access additional funding after the New Year. To qualify for funding, schools must complete this form and agree to the items outlined below.

  • School agrees to the following:

  • Schools will use the funds for allowable expenses by June 15, 2027, and will ensure all individuals involved are aware of what qualifies as an allowable expense, including but not limited to:
  • Schools will develop a leadership team that includes:
  • Schools will commit to helping track Unified experiences by:
    • Examples of Unified experiences include things like:
      • High School (HS)
        • Unified Sports (Unified PE, Unified Wellness, Unified Band, Unified Art, Unified Soccer, Unified Basketball, Unified Track & Field, Unified Volleyball)
        • Inclusive Youth Leadership (Unified Club, Unified Student Council, Unified Athlete Leadership Team – SALT)
        • Whole School Engagement (Awareness events, Spread the Word event, Unified Assemblies, Fans in the Stands, Unified Field Days)
        • Sustainability (HS Plunge, Cool Schools Dip)
      • Middle School (MS)
        • Unified Sports (Unified PE, Unified Wellness, Unified Band, Unified Art, Unified Basketball)
        • Inclusive Youth Leadership (Unified Club, Unified Student Council, other clubs that are inclusive)
        • Whole School Engagement (Awareness events, Spread the Word event, Unified Assemblies, Fans in the Stands, Unified Field Days)
        • Sustainability (Cool Schools Dip)

  • SONH agrees to the following:

    • Provide fun inclusive opportunities for your students this year including:
      • Supporting regional networking events to share ideas, struggles and successes with other schools in New Hampshire.
      • Hosting/Co-Hosting Middle School Unified Sports opportunities
      • Organizing community connection events to connect schools and Local SO Programs
      • Hosting the annual High School Plunge and the Cool Schools Dip which will help your school with fundraising for all the great events you have planned to help create opportunities for authentic social inclusion in your schools.
    • Support your schools as you continue your inclusion journey by:
      • Providing a UCS welcome kit and continued resources throughout the year
      • Providing a SONH liaison to answer any questions, assist with any struggles and celebrate your successes!
      • Providing both teacher and coaches training opportunities
      • Provide schools participating in the High School Plunge or Cool Schools Dip with 30% of their fundraising back to their school in Net Funds to support Unified activities and initiatives. These funds must be used to further inclusion and Unified programming at the school.²
