Girl Advisory Board Positions
President, Vice-President and Secretary positions are served by board members who have been on the board a minimum of one year. New members will be considered "Members at Large" for their first year of serving. Each position has a one-year term limit.
President
The President will be asked to act as the liaison between the GAB members and Advisors. They will design meeting agendas, presides over monthly meetings, and represent the Dakota Horizons council at various functions. The President is expected to exemplify the qualities of a Girl Scout at all times, when representing our organization. The President is the face of the Girl Advisory Board. Members may hold this position for one year.
Vice President
The Vice President will serve in the absence of the President. It is their job to help keep members engaged in the meeting, volunteering, and other organizational events. They are also expected to exemplify the qualities of a Girl Scout at all times, when representing our organization. Members may hold this position for one year.
Secretary
The secretary is responsible for keeping meeting minutes and taking attendance at all GAB meetings. Within 7-10 days of having meeting, minutes must be prepared and sent to all committee members, advisor and Council staff. Maintain meeting attendance records of all GAB members. The secretary may be asked to perform other duties as needed (i.e. room set up, sending thank you notes) by the GAB or by Council. Members may hold this position for one year.
Members at Large
A person who is a Girl Advisory Board representative that attends GAB meetings and has a voice in decisions. This person does not hold a designated position within the Girl Advisory Board.
