Submitting an instrument request does not guarantee that an instrument will be available. All students requesting an HFM instrument are initially waitlisted. Requests are reviewed in the order received, and instruments are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, pending approval, inventory availability, and appropriate sizing. If the requested instrument is not currently available in Henry For Music’s inventory, HFM will contact the family regarding availability and possible next steps. Sizing is typically completed during the student’s first class. Families may also visit the Henry For Music website for measurement tools and guidance before class.

Performance Participation
Students enrolled in Youth Orchestra United are expected to participate in HFM performance opportunities. These may include rehearsals, showcases, concerts, and community performances scheduled during regular class hours or outside the standard class schedule. HFM will provide scheduling information as opportunities are confirmed.

All instruments are welcome in JAM Sessions. Instrument-specific instruction through ORCH (Orchestra) is currently available for violin, viola, and cello only.
Family Partnership Commitment
Henry For Music provides instrument assistance at no cost to qualifying students. Although there is no fixed tuition charge for Youth Orchestra United music classes, each participating family is required to help sustain the program through at least one Family Partnership pathway. Financial and in-kind contributions help cover program expenses and allow HFM to direct more resources toward qualified teaching artists and quality music instruction. Volunteer service, community outreach, and student recruitment strengthen HFM’s capacity to serve students and families. No family is required to select financial support, and a family’s ability to contribute financially does not determine student eligibility.
Photography, Video, and Media Authorization
Henry For Music may photograph, audio record, or video record students during classes, rehearsals, performances, and other HFM programs or events. These materials may be used for educational, promotional, publicity, fundraising, or commercial purposes, including but not limited to printed materials, websites, social media, podcasts, television, streaming platforms, press coverage, and network appearances.
