• Antiracist Conversations Q&A: The Conversations We Were Never Taught to Have

Friday, October 9, 9:30 to 10:30 am PT
  • Sometimes the conversation about race went badly. Sometimes you never started it.

Someone said something in a meeting and you froze. You tried to respond and the conversation got defensive fast. You have something you want to say to a friend or colleague, and every version you rehearse in your head seems likely to make things worse.

Bring that conversation. We will look at the specifics: not what people should do in conversations about race, but what happened in yours. Who said what? What mattered? What were the risks? What do you wish had happened instead?

Race and power also shape the cost of speaking honestly. The risks are not the same for everyone in the room, and I do not want to pretend they are. So we will include that too.
