The Christian Church Commission in Oklahoma City will be allocating $65,000 to Disciples of Christ congregations for the 2027 calendar year. Applications are due on October 22, 2026. The Commission will review applications on October 29 and notify congregations no later than November 15, 2026. Congregations approved for grant funding will receive funds in January.

The purpose of these grants is to help congregations address strategic challenges. Please submit your application using this online form.  When you complete the form and submit, it will be emailed to gmitchell22@mac.com AND mdavison@okdisciples.org.

The funds distributed by the Commission are restricted to Disciples congregations located in the following counties: Oklahoma, Kingfisher, Logan, Lincoln, Pottawatomie, Cleveland, McClain, Grady, and Canadian. Last year the Commission approved 14 grants ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.

1. Please write no more than three paragraphs about how your congregation will use funds for events, programs, equipment, or any service that is strategically important for your congregation in 2027. Please include a summary budget of how you expect the money to be spent.
2. A lay leader and a minister are required to sign, date, and submit the application together. The grant proposal must be shared with the elders or the church board.
3. All grant funds are to be restricted by the congregation for the congregation's use. If there is unspent money or if another more important priority arises, the congregation must request permission from the Commission to change the grant's purpose. Please use this same form and feel free to simply add an addendum at the bottom.
