Committee Descriptions
Standard Forms Committee (2-year term) Evaluate and suggest changes to the Board of Directors for approval to keep contracts, addendums, and forms used in conducting real estate transactions current. Utilizing verbiage that is clear and concise for easy interpretation by clients and creates balanced forms that are fair for all parties. Consider member requests and review forms with review/revision dates older than 3 years. Maintain legal counsel approval on all forms.
Current Meeting Schedule: Second Tuesday of the month, 2:00 pm
Grievance Committee (3-year term) Receives ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if, taken as true on their face, a hearing is to be warranted. The Grievance Committee makes only such preliminary evaluation as is necessary to make these decisions. While the Grievance Committee has meetings, it does not hold hearings, does not decide whether members have violated the Code of Ethics, and does not dismiss ethics complaints because of lack of evidence. Prerequisite: Must have been a REALTOR® for one full year prior to the term starting. Requirement: Attendance of an annual training session.
Current Meeting Schedule: First Wednesday of the month, 9-10 am (meetings will be cancelled if there are no complaints to consider)
Professional Standards Committee (3-year term) Committee members serve on Hearing Panels as required to hear matters of alleged unethical conduct by the Association’s members or to provide arbitration as requested. The Professional Standards Committee is like a court, in that they adjudicate matters that come before them. The Professional Standards Committee makes decisions on matters involving the Code of Ethics or disputes generally involving commissions and compensation. Prerequisite: Service of one term on the Grievance Committee. Requirement: Attendance of an annual training session.
Current Meeting Schedule: No regular meetings, members will be requested for hearing panels only

Note on 2027 Committees:
In an effort to create volunteer opportunities that respect our members' very valuable and limited time, several committees are being eliminated and replaced by Task Forces. By creating purpose and outcome-driven task forces with defined end dates, limited meetings, and specific focus tied to the strategic plan, we can confidently say to returning and new volunteers: "We respect your time, talent, and expertise, and our promise is that we will not waste it." Committees being transitioned to task forces at the end of 2026 are Community Involvement Committee (CIC) and Your Professional Network (YPN). Government Affairs Committee (GAC) and Professional Development Committee (PDC) will be evaluated in 2027 to align their work with the Board of Directors' strategic plan priorities, and therefore we will not be accepting applications for those committees this year.
Volunteering with the association is not going away, and we hope that you don't either. We are still evaluating 2027 strategic plan priorities and the task forces needed to complete them, but we want to assure you that there will be many opportunities to share your time, talent and expertise on the issues that matter most to you. Are you ready to start serving on a task force? Instead of the typical committee applications open July-August, we will accept volunteer profiles year-round (exceptions being Forms, Professional Standards, and Grievance). The profiles will be used to determine volunteer interests, skills, and willingness to volunteer. Fill out your volunteer profile below!
