AIA Rhode Island is currently seeking leadership and expertise to fill open positions for the Chapter’s 2027 Board of Directors.
As the State’s leading voice of the Architecture profession, AIA Rhode Island represents over 250 architects, architectural design professionals, and allied members. We are highly committed to excellence in architecture and service to the public, endeavoring to bring together and serve all who are interested in the art and science of architecture. Serving on the Board of Directors, allows individuals the opportunity to contribute to the realization of organizational goals, strategies, and objectives that continue to shape the future of the profession. It’s also a great way to connect and network across the industry!
Requirements for all positions:
- Member in good standing of AIA
- Live or work in Rhode Island
- Serve a 1-3 year term (based on the position)
Requirements for all positions except Small Firm Exchange (SFx)
- Attend six (6) Board meetings per year.
- Serve on at least one committee.
Requirements for SFx only:
- Member of a firm employing 10 people or fewer
- Participate in monthly SFx Calls, typically held at noon on Thursdays.
- Serve as a general point of connection between AIA Rhode Island and the Small Firm Exchange.
- Share relevant SFx Knowledge Base initiatives, priorities, programs, and upcoming opportunities with AIA Rhode Island.
- Bring relevant issues or feedback from Rhode Island small firms back to the national SFx network.
