“The mission of the Arts Internship Program is to support students who face structural barriers with paid work experiences and mentorship opportunities in the arts that empower their self identity and help them build valuable skills to propel them through their future endeavors.”

Exploring the Arts (ETA) is the nonprofit organization founded by legendary singer, Tony Bennett, and his wife, Susan Benedetto, a former public school teacher, to support arts education in public high schools. ETA's Arts Internship Program offers high school juniors from ETA Partner Schools the opportunity to intern one-on-one with professionals at arts organizations, businesses, and cultural institutions. Our program demystifies creative careers, helps students develop a professional skill set, inspires their ambitions within the arts and beyond, and supports their college and career readiness in and through the arts.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- This program is available only for 11th graders who attend an Exploring the Arts Partner School.
- Applicants will be selected based on their artistic interests, answers to application questions, grades, and schedule of availability. We encourage all students that have enthusiasm for a particular art form and want to grow to apply.
- Interns that are accepted must be able to work within the United States and will need to provide either an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification) number or a SSN (Social Security) number.
PROGRAM TIMELINE:

Exploring the Arts’ Arts Internship Program places juniors as interns at arts organizations, cultural institutions, and art businesses for the duration of two school years:

Interns must make a commitment to the entire 2-year program and are paid stipends for their work in the program. The total for successfully completing the entire two year program is: $3,478

Interns will work approximately 3-6 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters (approximately 12 hours/month). Each semester, Interns will create a work schedule in collaboration with their mentors.

Interns' pay will reflect a $18/hr rate that equals to 70 hours of work for the entire school year and 48 hours over the summer session.
