Rules & Guidelines
All registered participants will receive one free admission ticket to the Fair and one free drink token which can be used for an alcoholic beverage ONLY if the participant is 21 years old and carrying proper ID.
1. Teams
(a) Each team will consist of five (5) participants representing their fraternity. (b) Each team must select a team name. (c) All team members must participate in the challenges.
2. How it Works
(a) Teams must check-in at the Cattle Barn, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026. A pre-challenge meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Any team not present for the meeting will not be allowed to participate. (b) Teams will compete in a series of six (6) barnyard challenges including activities such as tug-of-war, hay bale stacking, or butter churning. (c) Each place in the individual challenge will earn points.{ First Place – 25 points; Second Place – 15 Points; Third Place – 5 Points} (d) The team with the most points at the end of the competition wins $1,000 for the charity of their choice. (e) All challenges will take place in the North Florida Fair showring, in the Cattle Barn. (f) Points will be tallied by Fair staff with a winner announced immediately following the calculations.
3. Fair Play
(a) Teams must complete challenges honestly and without assistance from other competing teams. (b) Teams may not interfere with, sabotage, or intentionally obstruct another team. (c) Event staff have the final say regarding the winners of each challenge.
4. Interacting with Guests & Participants
(a) Be respectful and courteous when interacting with Fair guests, vendors, exhibitors, employees, or volunteers. (b) Be respectful of animals, livestock, exhibitors, vendors, and Fair property. (c) The North Florida Fair is a family event. Participants should act in a respectful manner at all times.
5. Safety
(a) Safety comes first! (b) Participants must follow all posted Fair rules and instructions from Fair employees, ride operators, livestock exhibitors, and event staff. (c) Do not enter restricted areas, climb fences, enter animal pens, cross barriers, or interfere with Fair operations to complete a challenge. (d) Participants may not run through crowded areas or engage in unsafe behavior. (e) Event staff reserve the right to disqualify any participant or team for unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
6. Points & Winners
(a) In the event of a tie, tied teams will participate in a tiebreaker challenge determined by event staff. (b) The team with the highest verified point total will be declared the winner. (c) The winning team will designate a 501(c)(3) charitable organization to receive the $1,000 prize. The organization may be subject to verification before the prize is awarded.
7. The Most Important Rule
Have fun, represent your fraternity well, and enjoy the Fair! This is a competition, but it is also an opportunity to meet people, experience the North Florida Fair, and support a great cause. Bring your team spirit, creativity, and competitive attitude! Good luck—and may the best fraternity win!
