New Musical Project 2027 Musical Submission Form

Submit your show for the 2027 New Musical Project! We are accepting submissions from anywhere, but we will prioritize at least one spot for Colorado writers/composers. It is free to submit your show through 11/1; if you submit between 11/2 and 12/1, you must pay a fee of $30 with your submission. Please make sure your links work. We will not review submissions with broken/access-restricted links.

Required Materials:

100-word synopsis
Cast breakdown
30-page (minimum) libretto segment
3+ audio demos

Project Timeline:

11/1/26: First Submission Deadline (FREE)
12/1/26: Late Submission Deadline: (PAID: $30/show)
12/18/26: Interview requests sent to finalists
2/1/27: Winners and finalists announced
4/1/27: 30-minute cuts due from three winners

Our 2027 project will take place in Boulder, Colorado late July through early August. In the meantime, follow @new_musical_project on IG! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!

In addition to our (up-to) three winners, who will have 30 minutes of their shows produced in a semi-staged reading format, we will be selecting 6-10 finalists, who will receive $100 and a slot in our Cabaret.

We are committed to providing opportunities for creatives of all races, socioeconomic statuses, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, cultural backgrounds, and abilities - including neurodiversities. Applicants from traditionally marginalized communities are especially encouraged to apply.

We value intergenerational/all-ages programming as well as stories from traditionally marginalized communities.
