Any Wisconsin artist 18 years or older who can meet eligibility requirements outlined in this application are invited to apply.
Read the application carefully, noting key dates and specifications for your application. Note the jury fee requirement, followed by the participant fee upon acceptance to SAT 2027, May 14 - 15 -16.
Applications deemed incomplete or not aligning with the participant or application requirements will be returned and must be refined to meet required criteria before due date:
• Hold a PROFESSIONAL membership in MHAAA ($40). One-year MHAAA membership will be included in the SAT 2027 participant fee. (Members that have renewed their membership after June 1, 2026 and selected for participation in SAT 2027 will receive a coupon code for a $40 reduction in their tour fee).
• Have or share an art tour space within a 21-mile radius of downtown Mount Horeb which includes the municipalities and the surrounding areas listed below.
Note: Spring Art Tour 2027 participants need not reside within this boundary; rather, have a tour location within the designated locales.
If you are seeking a tour spot, MHAAA will assist by acting as a liaison to members willing to share their studio location or representatives from a few possible locations.

Key Dates & Activities
October 31, 2026, 11:59 pm CT: Complete and submit individual SAT application ($30 non-refundable jury fee).
November 8, 2026, 11:59 pm CT: Late applications from current members will be accepted ($100 non-refundable jury fee after October 31, 2026).
November 11, 2026 (on or before): SAT 2027 artist selection will be completed by jury and artists notified.
November 25, 2026 11:59 pm CT: SAT 2027 tour fee balance of $420 for participating artists and $350 for artists hosting another artist or artists due. Failure to pay by this date / time will result in loss of the artist's opportunity to participate in SAT 2027.
Selected SAT artists as part of the participant fee will be provided with SAT and MHAAA promotional materials. Additional materials may (TBD) be available for purchase with the SAT participant fee.
SAT 2026 Participant Requirements
• Attend the mandatory SAT 2027 participant meeting in April 2027 (date TBD).
• Be present at your SAT location throughout the SAT weekend. Demonstrate and/or describe your creative process during the tour.
• Obtain and return SAT materials by the designated due date.
• Carry property liability and business insurance. MHAAA and grant organizations are not liable in any way.
• Monitor email for and respond to SAT communications.
• Collect visitor data and report to MHAAA President and Treasurer within seven days of SAT 2027 completion.
Artist SAT Location Rules
• In urban areas (village/town/city), one additional artist per location and / or at the discretion of the Board of Directors (BoD).
• In rural areas, there can be a maximum of five (5) artists at one studio/location (inclusive of host artist).
• Temporary rented, rural or urban "pro-bono" locations will be reviewed by the BoD and accepted or denied on a case-by-case basis.
No exceptions will be made to the Artist SAT Location Rules except by BoD decision.
Application Requirements
Read carefully and follow the required guidelines to avoid your application being returned as incomplete.
• Three (3) digital photos of recent art, created on or after January 1, 2025 for each medium selected on your application.
• One (1) digital photo of you in your studio.
• Artwork digital image specifications and requirements:
o Image format must be jpeg / .jpg
o Image resolution 300 dpi (dots per inch)
o Image size (2100 pixels on the longest side)
o Image title naming: artist last name and first name plus image title.

• Biography and/or artist statement.
• A short description of your creative demonstration or discussion.
• A brief description regarding accessibility to your studio or location.
Use of a third-party application or program is recommended to format your images. Images will be used in website, social media, promotional, marketing and advertising materials.
