Students auditioning for New Jersey Ballet Company’s production of The Nutcracker are auditioning for an opportunity to perform in a professional production for the general public. In order to maintain the high standards of the production, the following policies apply:

We accept the following terms to audition and participate in New Jersey Ballet Company's production of The Nutcracker:

Audition & Casting• There is no guarantee a student will be selected for any role.• By auditioning, students agree to be available for all rehearsal and performance dates listed.• Conflicts for mandatory school activities or religious reasons must be disclosed at the audition.• Conflicts may affect casting.• All casting decisions are final and at the sole discretion of the Artistic Director.• Height will be considered alongside other artistic and technical qualities.• Students are welcome to audition for more than one role, provided they are eligible.• If selected, dancers must accept the role(s) assigned, including assignment to one or both casts.Rehearsals & Performances• Participation in all scheduled studio rehearsals, stage rehearsals, and performances is mandatory.• Rehearsal dates/times may change, but NJB will provide as much notice as possible.• Casting notifications will be sent by email after the final audition on September 27, 2026.• Studio rehearsals begin Sunday, October 11, 2026, at New Jersey Ballet's studio in Florham Park.• Performers are expected to be on time and attend every rehearsal.• A breakdown of rehearsal times will be provided by October 1, 2026.Assumption of Risk, Liability Waiver and Indemnification: I understand and agree that participation in any class, lesson, workshop, rehearsal, performance or other activity conducted by New Jersey Ballet Company, Inc. or NJ School of Ballet, LLC (together, New Jersey Ballet) poses the possibility of injury, loss, damage or death. I agree, therefore, to assume, all risks and responsibility for any such injury, loss, damage or death which might occur to me (or my child) by reason of any New Jersey Ballet class, lesson, workshop, rehearsal, performance or other activity. I also agree to waive, release and discharge New Jersey Ballet, its members, officers, directors, agents, volunteers, assistants, employees, guest artists and faculty members from any and all losses, damages, liability, claims, demands or causes of action of any kind that may arise out of my (or my child’s) participation in any classes, lessons, workshops, rehearsals, performances or other activities conducted by New Jersey Ballet. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless New Jersey Ballet, its members, officers, directors, agents, volunteers, assistants, employees, guest artists and faculty members from any and all losses, damages, liability, claims, demands or causes of action of any kind, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that may arise out of my (or my child’s) participation in any New Jersey Ballet class, lesson, workshop, rehearsal, performance or other activity. If I am signing this assumption of risk, liability waiver and indemnification on behalf of my child, I represent that I am authorized to do so and acknowledge that my child shall be bound by the assumption of risk, liability waiver and indemnification provisions contained herein. The assumption of risk, liability waiver and indemnification provisions contained herein shall also apply to my (or my child’s) heirs, successors and assigns.

The audition fee will be due upon registration. If selected, all participation fees will be due by October 8, 2026.

As a not-for-profit performing arts organization, New Jersey Ballet is dedicated to providing young dancers the
unique opportunity to perform in a professional production of The Nutcracker. Bringing a full-length ballet of this
caliber to the stage requires significant resources. Participation fees help preserve and maintain our cherished sets
and costumes, while also ensuring the highest production values for our dancers and audiences alike.
