Key Guidelines
1. Open to All Hosts
You do not need to be a WATL/WKTL Affiliate to apply to host a sanctioned tournament.
Individuals, businesses, organizations, and other qualified entities may apply to host sanctioned tournaments, subject to the applicable requirements and approval process.
2. Sanctioning Fees
A sanctioning fee applies to all WATL/WKTL sanctioned tournaments. The fee varies based on the host type and final number of competitors.

- The $5 per-entry fee is based on the final number of competitor entries per discipline that participate, not the number that register.
- Sanctioning fees are invoiced after the tournament and are due within 15 days.
3. All-In Pricing
The sanctioned tournament entry price must be advertised as the full amount the competitor is required to pay.
For example, a $50 entry with a $5 WATL/WKTL sanctioning fee must be advertised as a $55 entry, not $50 + $5 WATL/WKTL fee.
The sanctioning fee may be broken out on receipts, confirmations, invoices, or terms after purchase.
3. Insurance Requirements
Hosts* are responsible for maintaining the required insurance coverage for their tournament, including:
- $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate commercial general liability
Participant/athletic participant coverage
$1 million liquor liability coverage where alcohol is involved
WATL/WKTL and applicable related parties named as additional insureds
Certificate of Insurance submitted at least 14 days before the tournament
*Active Official Community Venue Affiliates in good standing may opt out of the minimum insurance requirements, subject to the terms of the agreement.
