• NCC: supporting patients, staff, and families in a changing climate

  • Do you provide health care for children at UNCH or Duke Health?

If so, help shape North Carolina Children’s (NCC) by answering the following questions.
  • UNC Health and Duke Health staff are working together to envision North Carolina Children’s (NCC), a new health system campus in Apex designed to serve North Carolina’s children and families for decades to come.

We want your perspective on how the campus can best support patients, families, and staff in our changing climate.

    North Carolina is experiencing:

    • Increasing heat and extreme weather
    • More severe storms and flooding
    • Growing impacts on health and well-being (e.g. worsening cardiorespiratory disease, allergies, infectious diseases, injuries, mental health, etc.).

This is an opportunity to design for a healthier, more resilient future. We want to understand what matters most to you: from reducing waste and resource use to creating healthier, more efficient spaces that better support patients, families, and employees.

What do we mean by hospital sustainability?
Hospital sustainability means delivering great medical care while minimizing environmental harm, using resources efficiently, and maintaining financial viability for the long term. Examples include renewable energy, reusable instruments, recycling, reducing fossil fuel use, composting, and drought-tolerant landscaping.

This survey is 10 questions & takes approximately 2 minutes. Thank you for helping shape the vision for North Carolina Children’s!
