    Youth Visionaries (ages 6–14) Calling all creative kids! If you're between 6 and 14, grab a parent or guardian and join us, because building dreams, products, and confidence is even better together! What You’ll Learn & Do; This event is more than a simple market, it’s a mini‑business event designed for young entrepreneurs. Crafted by Kids, for the Community: Bring the products you make! Baked goods, crafts, art, and specialty foods all with limited adult help. Learn Money Smarts: Counting change, handling transactions, and tracking earnings teach valuable financial literacy skills today's youth entrepreneurship programs widely embrace, giving kids real-world experience! People Skills & Networking: Greeting customers with a smile, answering questions, and managing friendly interaction; this cultivates self‑esteem, public speaking confidence, and creativity. Marketing & Booth Magic: Set up your space, organize your display, design signs, and share your story via social media or word-of-mouth. All essential facets of modern entrepreneurial training. Build-Your-Own Business Experience: From arriving early for booth setup, organizing displays, running sales, to dismantling at day’s end, youth complete the full entrepreneurial journey, fostering responsibility and resilience .This event isn't just a one-day affair, it’s a foundational learning experience. Kids walk away equipped with business basics, presentation confidence, customer service savvy, and a real sense of pride in what they’ve built and sold. We only consider the following types of applications: Produce - Certified organic produce, chemical-free produce, and Iowa homegrown produce. *Out-of-state produce must be pre-approved, and the State of Origin must be displayed on all items. Plants and Floral Products - Fresh and dried flowers, seeds, and potted plants. Baked Goods - Bread, pies, cookies, cakes, and other homemade baked goods. Maker/Crafter - Homemade home décor items (candles, soaps, handmade jewelry, and other art items). Meat, Dairy & Eggs - Farm-raised meat, dairy, and egg products, such as beef, chicken, turkey, cheese, milk, ice cream, eggs, etc. Specialty Food Items - Specialty HOMEMADE food items that are not considered baked goods, include honey, mustards, salsas, jams, and other HOMEMADE food items. Food Trucks/Carts/Prepared Food - Temperature-controlled food items require licensing through the Health Department. Proper licensing must be in place and inspection by the local health department to be completed before being allowed to vend. Pet - treats, clothes, collars, and other items. Please note: Pet food and treats are now to be licensed by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. We do not accept MLMs, franchisees, medical or commercial merchants for approval at this time. Applications will be accepted through Oct 10, 2026. Applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by the event committee for acceptance. You will receive an email by Oct 17, 2026 regarding approval. Upon being accepted as a Y.E.P event vendor, you will be invoiced for the full fee. Invoices must be paid in full prior to vending.
