Thank you for your interest in joining our Board of Directors. Serving in this role is a meaningful commitment that supports the vision, governance, and sustainability of SEIRN. Please complete this nomination form by October 4, 2026.

Process overview:

All completed nominations will be reviewed by the Board Development Committee. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an interview process between late October and early November. Finalists who best align with SEIRN’s mission, values, and current board needs will be placed on the ballot for active SEIRN members to vote on. Newly elected Board members will be onboarded in late January 2027.

Please note that submission of a nomination does not guarantee advancement in the process.

To be considered for SEIRN’s Board of Directors, nominees must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Align with and practice SEIRN’s values and principles (click here to review)
- Be connected to an immigrant rights or social justice organization and/or community group
- Reside in the U.S. Southeast (please note: due to current board composition, we are not accepting nominations from Florida at this time)
As we continue strengthening our leadership, we are prioritizing:
- Non-Latinx leaders to help balance and diversify our current Board composition
- Individuals with experience in one of the following areas: cultural organizing, healing justice, movement building, financial management, fundraising and development, security, governance, communications, and/or strategic planning.
Board members are expected to:
- Uphold SEIRN’s mission, vision, and values
- Participate in quarterly board meetings (4 - 5 per year)
- Engage in at least one board committee (bimonthly meetings)
- Act as strategic thought partners
- Support fundraising and relationship-building efforts
- Serve as ambassadors of SEIRN
- Commit to a minimum two-year term (with the possibility of up to three consecutive terms, totaling six years)
