Unless authorized by law, we cannot disclose your tax return information to third parties for purposes other than the preparation and filing of your tax return without your consent. If you consent to the disclosure of your tax return information, Federal law may not protect your tax return information from further use or distribution. You are not required to complete this form to engage our tax return preparation services. Engagement Letter – KW TAX PROS LLC 1. Services Provided: We will prepare your federal and state income tax returns from the information you provide, identify deductions and credits you qualify for, and e-file your return after you review and sign it. 2. Client Responsibilities: To ensure accurate and timely preparation, you agree to provide complete and accurate information for the tax year, respond promptly to requests for additional documentation or clarification, and review and sign your completed return (Form 8879) before it is filed. We rely on the information and documents you provide. As required by IRS due diligence rules, we may ask follow-up questions and request documents to support items on your return, such as dependents, filing status, credits, and business income or expenses. If information appears incorrect, inconsistent, or incomplete and cannot be supported, we may decline to claim the item or to prepare the return. 2a. Due Diligence: If you claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit/Additional Child Tax Credit, Credit for Other Dependents, American Opportunity Tax Credit, or Head of Household filing status, federal law requires us to complete Form 8867 and keep records of the questions we asked and the documents you provided. We may ask for proof such as school, medical, or lease records. If an item can't be supported, we will not claim it. 3. Fees and Payment: Our fee is based on the forms, schedules, and work your return requires. It is never based on the amount of your refund or on the tax you save. We will tell you the fee before you sign your return. Your fee is the same whether you pay directly or have it deducted from your refund through an optional bank product. Payment is due by April 15 of the filing year, or when your return is filed if that is later. The fee is due whether or not you get a refund and is not reduced by an IRS or state offset (the IRS or state may reduce your refund to pay debts such as back taxes, student loans, or child support). 4. Confidentiality: We protect your information as required by federal law (IRC §7216). We will not use or share your tax information for any purpose other than preparing and filing your return unless you sign a separate written consent. 5. Limitation of Liability: We are not responsible for penalties or interest that result from incomplete or inaccurate information you provide, or from delays by the IRS or state. 6. Termination of Services: Either party may end this agreement at any time with written notice. You will be responsible for payment for services provided up to that point. 7. Agreement: By signing, you agree to these terms.
I confirm the information and documents I provide are true, correct, and complete to the best of my knowledge, and I will keep records that support them. I understand that knowingly giving false information is a federal crime. I understand my preparer relies on what I provide. I authorize KW TAX PROS LLC to prepare my return. Before anything is filed, I will review my completed return and sign IRS Form 8879 (and any state authorization). My return will not be filed until I do.
ACH Authorization (optional)
I authorize KW TAX PROS LLC to make a one-time ACH debit for my unpaid preparation fee (the amount stated on my invoice) from the account I provided, if it remains unpaid 15 days after the invoice date. I can cancel this authorization in writing before the debit date.
