Marathon Preparation
How many miles do you run in a week?

The Boston Marathon finish line closes at 5:30 PM, around 6 hours after the final participant crosses the finish line. Do you believe you can successfully finish the race in this time?

Our runners will have a 6-month window from October 2026 through April 2027 to prepare both mentally and physically for this run. How do you plan to train during this time? What do you expect your biggest training challenges to be, and how do you plan to address them?

Participation Agreement
RACE REGISTRATION

Selected charity participants will receive information from Camp Casco to register for the race after their application is accepted. The Boston Athletic Association charges a $375 race fee that does not count towards your fundraising commitment. This fee is the sole responsibility of the team member. The registration fee will be collected separately. You should not contact the race directly to secure your number.
RACE REGISTRATION

Selected qualified participants will receive information from the Boston Athletic Association to register for the race. The Boston Athletic Association charges a $375 race fee that does not count towards your fundraising commitment. This fee is the sole responsibility of the team member.
FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT

I agree to collect a minimum of $14,000 for Camp Casco by Sunday, April 18, 2027. If I have not reached the amount in donations by that date, I will personally be responsible for the balance owed. I fully understand that unless I cancel before officially registering for the race, the Camp Casco will charge my credit card. I declare that I have exercised my own judgment in signing this agreement and I further declare that the decision to sign this agreement is my own.

In the situation of a runner who defaults on this agreement and their credit card is not valid for any reason, Camp Casco reserves the right to pursue collection of the debt and the runner will be fully responsible for any and all legal fees incurred by with this collection process. Credit card information will be collected upon set up of a personal fundraising page through GivenGain, the online donation platform.

FUNDRAISING MILESTONES

Milestones I agree to meet, if I am selected as a charity runner:
- January 1- $6,000
- February 1- $8,000
- March 1- $10,000
- April 1- $12,000
- April 18- $14,000
In order to register for the race in January, you must have $6,000 on your fundraising page.

To ensure these milestones are met, Camp Casco reserves the right to charge the difference on your credit card by the date given if we feel there has been a failure to fundraise throughout.

*ALL RUNNERS MUST RAISE THE MINIMUM FUNDRAISING BY APRIL 18, 2027.* WE DISCOURAGE ANY BIB PICK UP UNTIL THE MINIMUM FUNDRAISING OBLIGATION IS MET.
CANCELLATIONS:

You may cancel your participation and fundraising commitment before officially registering for the Boston Marathon by email to Emily Hayes, emily.hayes@campcasco.org.

After registering for the event, there are no cancellations and fundraising commitments must be adhered to. After officially registering for the race, you are responsible for raising the minimum of $14,000 even if, for any reason including injury or illness you are unable to run in the Boston Marathon. If you cancel participation after this date, your credit card will be charged the balance of your fundraising commitment. Camp Casco has your consent to do this.

REFUNDS:

There are no refunds of any acquired donations under any circumstances, even in the event of the Boston Marathon being cancelled.
