Artists working in a range of media based in the Perth, Smith Falls, or adjacent areas are invited to submit completed artworks and/or proposals for commissioned artwork that express Linden’s themes of community, inclusion, cooperation and environmental responsibility, to be featured throughout Linden's interior and exterior common spaces.
The spaces predominantly support wall-hung artworks, however, sculptural, plinth or shelf-based works are equally welcome!
- Linden is seeking to represent a diverse range of artistic voices and encourages submissions from Indigenous, Black and other historically marginalized communities within the geographical limit of this application call
- Artworks and commission proposals should contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Linden's values of:
Community and connection across cultural backgrounds
Belonging and inclusion
Environmental sustainability and care
Dignity and Resilience
Submission Requirements
- 3 Artwork images
- Artist C.V. (if available), PDF format
- Short Biography or Artist Statement (max. 500 words)
- Link to website and/or social media
Please provide the following information for artwork submissions:
- Jpeg or PNG image (72 dpi, no larger than 2 mb each)
- Title, medium, size, date, price
- *optional* Relevant notes on the work and how it connects to Linden's project themes/values
Commission Proposals
Artworks selected for commission have a completion deadline of January 15, 2027.
Please provide the following for commission proposals (works that will be created specifically for this call):
- 2 - 3 Artwork images providing stylistic context for the proposed commission (these images will not be considered for purchase)
- Project Proposal, including: What you plan to create, how your piece will reflect your interpretation of what Linden represents, any relevant notes on the works installation logistics, and the final size, medium(s), and pricing. (max. 1000 words)
- NOTE: In drafting your proposal and selecting materials, please keep in mind the total project budget is: $20,000 CAD
