NEXT STEP 2027 Audition Video Submission Guidelines
Every dancer auditioning for NEXT STEP 2027 must submit a video featuring:

16 bars of Hard Shoe
16 bars of Soft Shoe

What We’re Looking For
NEXT STEP is about more than competition dancing—we want to see you as a performer!

Competition videos are not ideal for your audition submission. We encourage dancers to showcase creativity, individuality, and stage presence. A formal performance setting is not required.

We encourage you to incorporate:
- Arm movements and upper-body expression
- Facial expressions
- Performance quality and stage presence
- Creativity and individuality
- Choose material that highlights your strengths and gives our team a sense of who you are as a dancer and performer.
Video Submission Requirements
Your Hard Shoe and Soft Shoe auditions MUST be combined into ONE video.

Once combined:

1. Save your video file as: DANCER FIRST & LAST NAME_NextStep2027
2. Upload the video to YouTube.
3. Set the video privacy setting to UNLISTED.
4. Submit the YouTube link with your audition application.
Please do not submit two separate video links.

Important Note
If you are selected as a NEXT STEP Cast Member and choose to have your information included in the official NEXT STEP Affiliate Database, your submitted audition video will be included as part of your profile.

Following the program, this database is shared with our participating professional dance affiliates as a resource for identifying dancers for potential professional opportunities.

Think of your audition video as your opportunity to introduce yourself as a performer. Submit material showcasing your personality, performance quality, versatility, and the type of dancer you want professional companies, productions, and casting teams to see.

Make sure your submission represents how you want to be seen professionally.

To be considered for casting, dancers must have a minimum of five years of dance experience (competitive and/or amateur) and meet a required competitive dance level. Please list your current competitive level, or your most recent level if you are no longer competing, above. Then state your years of Irish dance experience.

Waivers & Agreements

By signing below, I acknowledge I am either 18 years of age or older, or the parent or legal guardian of the applicant, and I authorize Thomondgate Productions Inc. (CRC) and JigGig to collect, use, and retain the personal information provided on this form for as long as reasonably necessary to assess eligibility for Next Step 2027. I further acknowledge and agree the creators of Next Step retain full ownership of my audition video, and that my headshot may be used for promotional and marketing purposes related to Next Step.
