About The Event
Get up early on Saturday, October 10, and join us for the Georgia Chapter's final driving event of 2026. We will gather in Blue Ridge, GA, and get ready to travel through three states. First, we head up GA-5/TN68 to Tellico Plains, pause at the Visitor Center, and then go east on one of the most spectacular roads in the Southeast, the Cherohala Skyway. It is famous for its 43 miles of sweeping, constant radius curves and incredible views.
Don't worry, several stops are planned along the way so you can actually enjoy those views. The road climbs to elevations of over 5400 feet on the North Carolina side and continues back down toward Robbinsville, NC, where we'll turn north for a few miles before we arrive at Tapoco Lodge. We will have lunch (included in the registration fee) at Tapoco Tavern, overlooking the Cheoah River. The events ends here, but we encourage you to stay in the area to explore other great roads, like US-129, NC-28, and Foothills Parkway, or simply take in the vibrant atmosphere at the Lodge and while away an afternoon outdoors.
The cost to participate is $40 per person.
