Terms and Conditions of Funding
Purpose of the Bursary
This bursary supports attendance on the Certificate in Sustainable Land Management delivered by the Allerton Project.
Two bursaries are available and will be awarded following review of completed applications.
Applicant Contribution
Successful applicants will be required to contribute £258 towards the course fee.
Future Farmers of Yorkshire will provide instructions on how the contribution should be paid following confirmation of a bursary award.
Failure to make the required contribution by the stated deadline may result in the bursary being offered to another applicant.
Course Fees
Future Farmers of Yorkshire will fund the remaining course costs on behalf of successful applicants.
In exceptional circumstances where alternative payment arrangements are required, these will be agreed on a case-by-case basis between Future Farmers of Yorkshire, the applicant and the course provider.
Accommodation Support
The bursary includes accommodation support of up to £75 per night towards accommodation during the in-person element of the course.
Support is intended to cover accommodation at the Allerton Project's on-site accommodation, currently advertised at £75 per night, or towards local equivalent if not available.
Any accommodation costs above this amount must be met by the participant.
Travel Support
The bursary includes a contribution of up to £150 towards travel costs associated with attending the in-person course sessions.
Travel claims must be supported by receipts and/or mileage (55p per mile) records and submitted within 30 days of course completion.
Attendance
Successful applicants are expected to attend all online and in-person course sessions, as well as the online examinations.
Failure to attend without reasonable explanation may result in future bursary applications being declined.
Promotional Materials
Successful applicants will be required, as a condition of receiving funding, to provide Future Farmers of Yorkshire with a short written summary of their experience at the event and a selection of photographs. These may be used by the organisation for marketing, communications, and promotional purposes.
Social Media Acknowledgement
Recipients are expected to acknowledge the support of Future Farmers of Yorkshire and Anglo American's Cultivating Sustainable Agriculture programme on relevant social media posts and to tag Future Farmers of Yorkshire where appropriate. By submitting these materials, recipients grant permission for Future Farmers of Yorkshire to use this content across its promotional and communication channels.
Withdrawal
If a successful applicant withdraws from the course after accepting their bursary, Future Farmers of Yorkshire reserves the right to reclaim any unrecoverable costs incurred on their behalf.
Non-Transferable Funding
Funding is intended solely to support attendance at the specified event and may not be transferred to another person or event without prior written approval from Future Farmers of Yorkshire.
Behaviour and Compliance
Recipients are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner during the event. Future Farmers of Yorkshire reserves the right to withhold reimbursement if conduct is deemed inappropriate or if the applicant fails to comply with event rules and safety requirements.
Decision Making
Applications will be assessed based on:
• Commitment to professional development.
• Potential benefit to the farm business.
• Relevance to sustainable land management objectives.
• Likelihood of applying the learning in practice.
The decision of the assessment panel is final.
Use of Materials
All submitted materials (written summaries, photographs, and social media content) become the property of Future Farmers of Yorkshire and may be used for promotional, marketing, and communications purposes indefinitely, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
