• RIVERWOOD AUDITION SIGN UP

Thank you for sharing your talents with us! Please take a moment to fill out this pre-audition form to help us better know your interests.
  • Rehearsals will take place Monday-Thursday from 6-10pm with likely Saturday daytime rehearsals (Time TBD based on actor schedules), as needed.

All rehearsals and performances will be at Stage Left Theater.
    Performances run November 6-22, 2026.

    • Auditions will be held Saturday, September 26th from 10am - 2pm at Stage Left.

    • Callbacks will be held Saturday, September 27th at 10am at Stage Left.

    • For auditions, actors should be ready with a 1-2 minute monologue and be prepared for cold readings from the script. Sides will not be provided prior to arriving at the audition, this is to ensure all auditioners have an equitable opportunity to prepare. The script is available for reading upon request.

    • You may submit a video audition of your 1-2 minute monologue, if you are unable to attend in person.

    • This show contains some serious themes surrounding gentrification, anti-Black classism, betrayal, joy, and community all working together simultaneously.

    • For this show, all actors and stagehands at Stage Left are volunteers without stipend, but will share equally in the Artist Appreciation / Production Tip Pool collected during the run of the show - paid out after the final performance.

    • Please fill out any known conflicts that you may have during the rehearsal and production dates at the bottom of this form. Be honest: Better to list conflicts than to surprise us later. Having conflicts does not preclude you from being cast EXCEPT during Tech Weeks and Show Dates (October 31st-November 22nd).

While actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, and backgrounds are always encouraged to audition, please note that this production focuses on the experience of Black characters. Director, Malcom Pelles, will be casting racially appropriate actors to portray these characters.

Performers should be comfortable portraying the ages listed for each role. Given the content of production, roles will be age restricted to no younger than 16.

In the event that any cast or crew are under 18 years of age (minors), ALL production members will be required to complete a background check.

Content Advisory for Auditioners: Strong language, including use of racial slurs; the script also includes a monologue depicting gun violence and police brutality against a Black teenager. Sides for cold readings will be chosen thoughtfully by the director, but feel free to reach out in advance if you'd like more detail on the material.
