EVENT GUIDELINES - PLEASE READ!
Artist Guidelines:
- Open to young artists ages 5-12 years.
- Two age categories are included: 5-8 and 9-12. A winner will be chosen in each age category.
- Artist supplies will be picked up at ArtForms Gallery at 620 N. Broadway Street, Pittsburg KS.
- Pickup for materials will be Tuesday, Oct. 13 – Thursday, Oct. 15 between 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Windows must be painted by 8:00pm and submitted by 9:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. Judging will take place Friday, Oct. 16.
- Artists must have adult supervision while painting. Parents/guardians are responsible for keeping the downtown streetscape, sidewalks, and store windows clean and free of paint spills, trash, or debris.
- Winners will be noted with a ribbon design on a Morning Sun ad, and special posts on the Downtown Pittsburg social media pages.
- Parents/Guardians MUST email a photo of the artist next to their painted window (along with name and age, and business name) to ryandittmanncontest@gmail.com by Thursday, October 15 at 9:00 p.m. in order to be entered into the contest! Submit each entry/child in separate emails for multiple entries.
Business Guidelines:
- Deadline to register – Friday, September 25.
- No cost to businesses- sponsored by Ronald McDonald House, JT Construction, Jaguar Transport, and The Morning Sun.
- Businesses can select their own youth artist to sponsor (ages 5-12), or request to be connected to an artist to sponsor. (artist registration https://form.jotform.com/242705708230148)
- Artist Paints and supplies will be provided to the artists at ArtForms Gallery.
Business owners are responsible for cleaning windows after contest concludes - all paints supplied are designed to be easy to wash away.
