Original Work + Generative AI Policy

Sunny Dayz is committed to supporting artists and protecting the originality, creativity, and integrity of the work created through our festival. All designs submitted for consideration must be the artist’s original work.

Sunny Dayz does not allow generative AI to be used in the development of mural designs. This includes using AI to generate, alter, develop, or contribute to a concept, composition, imagery, or other creative elements of a proposed mural design.

Artists may draw inspiration from other artists, artwork, history, nature, or the world around them, but submitted designs may not copy, trace, reproduce, or substantially replicate another artist’s work. There is an important distinction between inspiration and appropriation, and artists are responsible for understanding and respecting that distinction.

Sunny Dayz reserves the right to review sketches and design development and to ask artists questions about their creative process, sources of inspiration, and originality of their work.

Sunny Dayz Mural Fest is a massive labor of love put together by an incredible team of volunteers. To bring the 2027 event to fruition, we need to raise $225,000 (of which more than 60% goes directly to paying artists, including performers, at the festival). If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider supporting this extraordinary (and history-making) celebration of creativity and community in Oklahoma! Your generosity can make a huge difference—every contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply valued.

Please note, donations are voluntary and will have no impact on the outcome of your application.

(p.s. we are proud to inform you that Sunny Dayz, Inc is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charity, making your donation tax-deductible)
