  • Welcome to the Papatoetoe Tag Arena Module

    Papatoetoe Rugby has proudly partnered with the Pacific Tag Federation this season to deliver an exciting, community‑focused tag module for all ages. Our programme has always been about introducing tag to newcomers, building confidence, and giving our tamariki a fun, competitive environment to grow their skills.

    This year, we’re aiming for a bigger, more diverse pool of teams to provide game time for both junior and senior players as they prepare for Pacific Tag Cup. Whether you’re bringing a full team or joining as an individual during our muster days, we aim to provide quality game time, great competition, and a supportive whānau atmosphere.

  • Team Registration Requirements

  • Each team may register up to 16 players. All teams must register one coach, and one manager and all players.

    Each team must have a minimum of 12 players in order to register a team. There will be an opportunity before the 16th October to add more players. You will need liaise directly with Papatoetoe Rugby Junior Exec Comitee paprugby@outlook.com

  • Age Grades

  • All player details submitted must be complete and compliant with the Pacific Tag Federation Age Eligibility. Please see table below:

    A players birthday must fall on or after the 1st of January in the season of play to be eligible for their age grade. For example, to be eligible to register and play in the U10 grade, the player can have either turned 10 on 1st January 2026 or be turning 10 during the year to be eligible. A player cannot already be 10 by 1st January 2026 to play U10.

  • Registration Fees

  • • Junior Teams (U16 and younger): $350.00 per team of up to 16 players. Additional players will be charged an extra $20.00 per player.

    • Senior Teams (Over 18): $450.00 per team of up to 16 players. Additional players will be charged an extra $30.00 per player.

     

    These costs are for the registration of your team in the Papatoetoe Tag Arena Module and does not include the cost of uniforms or registration for Pacific Tag Federation Junior Cup Tournament.

  • Payment Process

  • Once your team registration is submitted, the team manager and coach will receive an email containing the payment link. Payment is due by 9th October 2026. Please note: Registration is only confirmed once payment has been received. Unpaid registrations will not secure a place in the module.

  • Module Dates

  • • 3 October – Muster Day All that are interested or already attending the module are welcome for a free fun day of tag activations. There will be freebies for children on the day. This is also an opportunity for individual players to seeking teams to register or teams looking to add players.

    Grading rounds assist coordinators in matching teams for round-robin play. Rubber moulds only on artificial turf; no spikes.

    • 21 November – Round Robin

    All round-robin games will be held on Papatoetoe Recreational Grounds, Field 3 and 2. All information for games times will be released on a weekly basis to coaches and managers. From there you can find the posted schedule on Pap Socials.

    • 28 November – Tag Tournament Dependant on how many teams register for the tournament only, there may be a possibility of Sunday 29th November being added onto the tournament date. More details to come closer to the date.

  • Code of Conduct – Coaches / Managers  

    Be a leader – you have the biggest influence in relation to your players and supporter’s attitudes towards the referee and the opposition. 
    Ensure your philosophy matches that of your players - fun and development are the foundation for them playing the game 
    Be reasonable on the demand on player’s time, energy and enthusiasm 
    Teach your team to play within the rules of the game 
    Ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety standards and that you use drills and  training methods that are both safe and effective for your player’s needs. 
    Positively reinforce the actions of players. 
    Give all players the opportunity to participate in the game. 
    Insist on sportsmanship, fair play and discipline. 

     

    Code of Conduct – Parents / Carers

    Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.
    Discourage unfair play and arguing with referees or officials.
    Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
    Never force your child to take part in sport.
    Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performances of all.
    Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
    Publicly accept referees’ and officials’ judgements.
    Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
    Use correct and proper language at all times.
    Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour
