A Modern Reflection on Life and Death

Offered in Chinese language with English translation/subtitles.

Life, aging, illness, and death are all natural phenomena in human life. ‘Life’ and ‘death’ are the two sides of a coin’ of our very daily lives. If we frankly face ‘death’ with a positive and healthy manner, at the same time reflect and contemplate ‘life’ from the perspectives of ‘death’ and ‘the life after death’, and then we will have a higher level of understanding, experience and realization about life.

Therefore, through this kind of understanding of life and death, not only are we more able to reveal and demonstrate the meaning and value of life, but also more able to take care of the old, attend the sick, and calm the dying. So the ultimate goal of the ‘life-and-death studies’ is to elevate and fulfill the quality and
dignity of both life and death.

The mystery of death is that it deepens our exploration and understanding of life.
