For The Founders: Historical Memory and Archive Submission

Some history lives in documents. Some history lives in the people who were there.

Across the Fellowship are photographs, videos, conversations, lessons, encounters, and memories involving our Founders that may exist nowhere else but in the possession and memory of Fellowmen.

For the Founders is an ongoing Sword & Spear initiative dedicated to preserving those moments with the care they deserve.

If you met a Founder, learned from one, shared a moment with one, captured one on camera, or possess historical material connected to one, we invite you to contribute.

Do not worry about writing perfectly.

Tell us what happened. Tell us what you remember. Give us the details only you may be able to provide.

A name without a story can become distant.

A photograph without context can become unidentified.

A lesson that is never shared can disappear with the person who remembers it.

This is our opportunity to preserve more.

Because they built it. We have a responsibility to remember it.

SECTION 4 — TAKE US BACK TO THE MOMENT

Take us back to the moment. What was happening?

Write this as though you are explaining the moment to a Fellowman who was not there.Where were you? Approximately when was it? What event, meeting, Conclave, chapter gathering, conversation, trip, or occasion brought you together? Who else was present? What was happening before the photograph, video, or interaction occurred?Even details that seem small today may become important historical context later.

SECTION 5 — THE FOUNDER YOU EXPERIENCED

What did this moment allow you to see or understand about the Founder as a man?

Beyond his title as a Founder, help us understand the person you experienced.What did you notice about the way he spoke, carried himself, treated Fellowmen, listened, taught, joked, corrected, encouraged, led, or interacted with others?Give us the detail that would help another generation understand something about him that a name, photograph, or biography alone may not reveal.

Was there a specific moment, conversation, lesson, or statement that stayed with you? Tell us the story.

What happened?If something was said, share the words as accurately as you remember them and explain the circumstances around them.If it was something he did rather than something he said, describe that.Most importantly, tell us why that particular moment stayed with you after the encounter was over.

We are interested in what was genuinely true for you.
