  • Position Summary:

    The Music Director serves as YOSA's artistic leader, lead educator, and an influential voice within the music education community. Through inspiring conducting, musical excellence, student-centered teaching, and relationship building, the Music Director advances YOSA's mission of changing lives by providing shared musical experiences that expand possibilities and foster belonging for all youth.

  • Conducting Video Portfolio

    Please provide a separate PDF or Word document containing *Unlisted or Public YouTube links to conducting excerpts totaling no more than 15 minutes. Your video portfolio should demonstrate contrasting repertoire and ensemble settings and should include:

    • Multiple musical styles and historical periods
    • At least one rehearsal excerpt
    • At least one performance excerpt
    • Youth ensemble experience is preferred but not required
    • Videos should clearly show your conducting and interaction with musicians

    For each video, please include the YouTube link, title of the work/repertoire, composer, ensemble, and a brief description identifying the excerpt as a rehearsal or performance.

    *Please ensure all videos are set to Unlisted or Public (not Private) so that YOSA's selection committee can access them without requiring a YouTube account or permission request. An Unlisted YouTube video does not appear in public spaces like search results, channel pages, or the homepage. Anyone with the direct link can watch, view, or share the video without needing a Google account. This keeps the video essentially "private" from the public, but it is public to anyone with the link.

  • Professional References

    Please provide 3–5 professional references who can speak to your qualifications, leadership experience, conducting experience, or work with young musicians. At least three references should be individuals who have directly supervised you or worked closely with you in a professional capacity. Please do not list personal references.
