The Mississippi Business Journal is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Women in Business Awards, recognizing 25 outstanding women from across Mississippi for their leadership, professional achievements, service, and impact.

Nominees may come from businesses and organizations of any size and from virtually any field, including banking and finance, health care, law, education, manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, technology, government, nonprofit organizations, retail, hospitality, professional services, entrepreneurship, and other industries.

All nominations are due Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m.

While self-nominations are welcome, multiple nominations of the same individual will not increase her chances of selection. Selection is based on the quality and substance of the nomination, not the number of nominations received.

What Makes a Strong Nomination?

Please be specific. Rather than simply telling us that a nominee is an outstanding leader, show us what she has accomplished.

Whenever possible, include measurable examples, such as company growth, jobs created, employees supervised, major projects completed, money raised, organizations helped, people mentored, awards received, or other tangible results.

We also want to hear the nominee’s story. What challenges has she overcome? What distinguishes her from her peers? How has she made a lasting difference?

Has she helped other people succeed by mentoring, encouraging, or creating opportunities for others?

Does she demonstrate the professionalism, ethical standards, and personal character expected of someone representing the best of Mississippi’s business community?
