CODE OF ETHICS

1. To strive for the betterment of the Shetland Sheepdog breed and for the control/eradication of hereditary problems particular to the breed.

2. To maintain the highest standards of health and care for my dogs.

3. To sell only dogs for which Canadian Kennel Club registration papers will be provided and in the case of puppies/adults which are pet quality to use CKC Non-Breeding Agreements.

4. Not to sell puppies to pet shops or commercial brokers nor donate puppies to auctions or raffles.

5. Not to sell puppies under the age of seven weeks or without proper immunization and health protection for their age.

6. To represent my dogs as honestly as possible to prospective buyers and assist them with advice on diet, vaccinations and general health care. Also, to provide buyers with a three-generation pedigree.

7. To be an exemplary member of the Club and refrain from detrimental public comment on any member or members.

DECLARATION

SSFC requests written consent from members to have personal information about the member such as names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers. This written consent allows for your personal information to be shared among the various members who need this information for Club business, such as call and voting lists and for various mail outs such as newsletters. The membership list is for the use of members and is never to be shared with or sold to other individuals or organizations.

I hereby give permission for my name, address, email address and telephone number to be collected and used as described above, and agree to abide by the SSFC Code of Ethics, regulations and/or guidelines set forth in the Constitution and By-Laws of the Shetland Sheepdog Fanciers Club. Applications for membership in the SSFC should be accompanied by sponsorship of a regular member in good standing. The applicant must have been personally acquainted with the sponsor. As a sponsor for the above named, I recommend this membership go forth.
