DIYagnose LLC — Homeowner Electrical Guidance Agreement

Remote guidance only: DIYagnose provides remote electrical troubleshooting, educational instruction, installation guidance, contractor quote review, and related technical information by phone, video, photos, email, and other electronic communications. DIYagnose does not physically perform electrical work, control or supervise the worksite, perform an official inspection, issue permits, or guarantee code compliance.

Customer performs the physical work: The customer decides whether to perform any task discussed and is responsible for determining whether they are legally permitted, properly equipped, sufficiently knowledgeable, physically able, and comfortable performing it. The customer is responsible for required permits, inspections, or licensed professionals.

Electrical work is dangerous: Electrical work can cause shock, electrocution, burns, arc flash, fire, property damage, serious injury, permanent disability, or death. The customer must stop work and seek appropriate professional or emergency help for smoke, fire, arcing, burning odor, abnormal heat, water around electrical equipment, exposed energized conductors, damaged service or meter equipment, or any condition they do not understand.

Remote guidance has limits: DIYagnose can evaluate only information and conditions communicated or visible remotely. Hidden defects, improper previous work, defective equipment, grounding problems, energized components, concealed damage, code issues, and other hazards may exist that cannot be identified remotely. DIYagnose does not guarantee every defect or hazard will be found, that a diagnosis will be correct, or that an on-site electrician will not be required.

Assumption of risk and liability: The customer knowingly and voluntarily assumes the risks associated with physical electrical work they choose to perform or direct another person to perform. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the customer releases DIYagnose LLC and its members, owners, employees, contractors, representatives, and agents from claims for injury, death, electrical shock, fire, equipment damage, property damage, loss of use, or other losses arising from physical work performed by the customer or another third party following a DIYagnose consultation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, this includes claims alleging ordinary negligence relating to DIYagnose’s remote instruction, troubleshooting, or guidance. Nothing in this agreement waives liability that applicable law does not permit to be waived. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DIYagnose’s aggregate liability for the specific service giving rise to a claim shall not exceed the amount actually paid for that service.

Pricing: Phone Support — $40 for first 15 minutes. Video Support — $60 for first 15 minutes. Contractor Quote Review — $25. Additional consultation time for the same diagnosis is collected in 15-minute increments.
