As researchers, we drive Mount Sinai’s scientific mission and our work draws in millions of dollars of federal grants. However, many of us still struggle with the affordability crisis in New York City, a lack of secure and equitable rights in the workplace, and increasing uncertainty about our futures given the precarious nature of science funding and the rights of international researchers in recent years.
But in negotiations with more than 700 researchers at Mount Sinai, the administration has continued to reject our efforts to address these urgent issues. In order to make our institution live up to its promise of advancing science for the common good, we are rallying on October 6th to call on Sinai to stand with us, not against us.
