Finlandia Foundation National invites Finnish, Finnish American and Finnish-loving friends to submit their photographs of the Copper Country (Keweenaw, Houghton, Baraga, Ontonagon Counties, Isle Royale and part of Marquette County). The photographs should be Finnish themed and could be of the following, but not limited to the Finnish American Heritage Center, Finnish American festivities, a sauna, old homestead, of course the beautiful landscape or a Finnish dessert. Some festivals like, Heikinpäivä, St. Urho's Day, Juhannus/Midsummer, Itsenäisyyspäivä/Independence Day of Finland. Photographs of any season are welcome and encouraged!
You do not have to live in the Copper Country to submit. Maybe you were on vacation or summer here. If your photograph is selected as one of the 12 images or the photo cover image you will receive a free calendar and the knowledge that your beautiful photograph is hanging in someone’s home.
There is no age requirement.
Submissions close on Tuesday, October 13th at 11:59pm ET.
