Tax Preparation Engagement Letter
1. Purpose of Engagement
PowerHouse Financial & Tax Solutions (“Preparer,” “We,” or “Us”) agrees to prepare the federal and state income tax returns for the client(s) named above (“Client,” “You,” or “Your”) for the stated tax year. This engagement is limited to the preparation of these returns only.
2. Our Responsibilities
• We will prepare your return(s) based on the information you provide.
• We will use our professional judgment to resolve questions where the tax law is unclear or where there may be conflicting interpretations.
• We will not audit or verify the data you submit, though we may request clarification or documentation when necessary.
• We will e-file your return(s) unless you instruct us otherwise.
3. Your Responsibilities
• You agree to provide complete and accurate information necessary for the preparation of your return(s).
• You are responsible for maintaining documentation to support the information you provide (e.g., W-2s, 1099s, receipts, records).
• You are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of your return(s) and for paying any tax, penalties, or interest assessed by tax authorities.
• You agree to review your completed return(s) before signing and filing.
4. Fees & Payment
• Fees are based on the forms required, complexity of the return, and time spent.
• A deposit may be required before services begin.
• Full payment is due prior to filing unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Refunds & Bank Products
• If you choose to use a refund transfer or other bank product, additional fees may apply. Refunds are issued by the IRS or state and not guaranteed by PowerHouse Financial & Tax Solutions.
6. Confidentiality
• We maintain the confidentiality of your information in accordance with federal and state laws. Your data will not be disclosed without your written consent, except as required by law.
7. Termination of Engagement
• Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You remain responsible for payment of services performed up to the termination date.
