Neighborhood Infrastructure, Traffic & Improvement Survey

Purpose: The Edgewater Glen Association is collecting information from residents about infrastructure, traffic, pedestrian safety, and other neighborhood improvement needs.

Please complete one survey per household and provide as much detail as possible, including specific locations where applicable.

The survey consists of six (6) parts and should take approximately 3–5 minutes to complete.

  • Part I. Resident Information

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • May the Edgewater Glen Association (EGA) contact you regarding this request?
  • Are you a member of EGA?
  • If no, we’d love to have you join EGA!

Not a member? Join your neighbors in supporting EGA's advocacy, events and neighborhood improvement initiatives. https://www.edgewaterglen.org/join

  • Are you experiencing any of the following Sidewalk, Street, and Alley issues?
  • Are you experiencing any of the following Drainage & Stormwater issues?
  • Are you experiencing any of the following Other Common Request issues?
  • PART III – TRAFFIC FLOW & EMERGENCY ACCESS

  • How would you describe traffic conditions on your street / cross street? Select all that apply.
  • What types of vehicles contribute most to traffic concerns on your street / cross street? Select all that apply.
  • This is concerning because:
  • What traffic-calming or safety improvements would you support? Check all that apply.
  • PART IV – LARGER INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS

  • Examples could include major street reconstruction, persistent flooding and drainage improvements, alley reconstruction—including permeable pavers in place of asphalt to improve drainage, such as on Clark and the 1300 blocks—sidewalk replacement, major tree canopy improvements, pedestrian safety projects, or other neighborhood-wide infrastructure needs.

  • PART V – 48TH WARD PARTICIPATORY BUDGET IDEAS

  • Each year, residents have an opportunity to suggest projects for potential funding through the Participatory Budgeting — The 48th Ward process.

  • Some broad examples of projects include: pedestrian safety improvements such as raised crosswalks; historic-style street lighting; sidewalk, street, and alley repairs; parks and recreational facilities; trees, landscaping, and green space—including additional planting along Clark Street and Granville; and public art and neighborhood beautification.

  • PART VI – NEIGHBORHOOD PRIORITIES

  • Thinking about the issues and improvements covered in this survey, which THREE should be the highest priorities for EGA? Please select up to three.
  • THANK YOU!

Thank you for helping the Edgewater Glen Association identify infrastructure needs and neighborhood improvement opportunities.

The information collected through this survey will help the Edgewater Glen Association:

    • Identify recurring infrastructure problems across multiple blocks.
    • Consolidate individual requests to prioritize issues and get improvements completed faster.
    • Coordinate requests with the 48th Ward Alderman's Office.
    • Identify projects appropriate for City funding or capital improvement programs.
    • Develop competitive ideas for 48th Ward Participatory Budgeting.
    • Document traffic, pedestrian, drainage, and emergency-access concerns affecting residents.
  • Your voice makes a difference. Do you allow EGA to include your survey response in communications, requests, or petitions to the 48th Ward Alderman’s Office and other City of Chicago departments concerning the neighborhood improvements here?*
