    Individual Recruiter Registration Form

    Welcome, URTA member faculty! This is your individual recruiter registration form for the 2027 URTA Auditions & Interviews.

    By now, your program's primary URTA contact has hopefully already registered your program for its 2027 URTAs recruiting plans/event attendance. However, all URTA member faculty who will be recruiting at the 2027 URTAs will need to register themselves through this form by no later than December 1, 2026. We encourage you to register ASAP to give yourself ample time to prepare for the event.   

    Upon completion of your registration form, URTA will process your individual registration and you will receive important information about the 2027 URTAs sent to the email address listed in your registration. This includes the URTA faculty recruiter packet (which contains all of the event details, schedules, and hotel booking links), Acceptd information, and more.

    Staff at URTA member schools who will be supporting recruiting efforts, but not attending the events, and need to receive event information and access candidate materials should also register via this form. 

    Please note: URTA is only able to process individual recruiter registrations for member schools/programs that have are in good standing with URTA and current on their membership dues. The program must be registered to recruit at the 2027 URTAs and have submitted all required annual member information. If your program/school has not met these requirements yet, URTA will put a hold on processing your individual recruiter registration and make you aware of the situation.

    To increase access for prospective candidates, URTA is once again planning a mix of recruiting events in 2027 (in-person, live-virtual, and hybrid). Please be sure to review the dates and locations for each event carefully when registering. 

    To ensure fairness for all applicants, programs are required to have at least 1 recruiter present at all days of recruiting for each of the disciplines/events the program has registered to attend. Recruiting responsibilities can be shared among colleagues – please complete this form for yourself indicating the specific events/dates you will be attending the URTAs.

    All recruiters must abide by the URTA Event Policies and Guidelines, which can be reviewed HERE.

  • Which Acting Auditions will you personally be attending?*
  • Atlanta Auditions will take place Jan. 16 in a hybrid format (in-person for candidates and member universities, *live stream available for members unable to attend in-person). There must be at least one recruiter present from your program for the full day of auditions.*

  • All URTA recruiting events (auditions and callbacks) will take place on campus at Spelman College. URTA has a discounted room block available in Atlanta, which recruiters are invited to utilize. However, no recruiting events will take place at the URTA hotel, so staying there is optional. Hotel room block info and booking links will be included in the faculty packet received after registration. We encourage you to book early, as we cannot extend the room block once filled. 

  • Chicago Auditions will take place in-person at the Palmer House Hilton from Jan. 24-27. There must be at least one recruiter present from your program for the full audition day on all four days of Chicago auditions.*
  • Do you plan to stay at the URTA hotel in Chicago?*
  • Philadelphia Auditions will take place in-person at the Sonesta Rittenhouse Square from Jan. 30-Feb. 1. There must be at least one recruiter present from your program for the full audition day on all three days of the Philadelphia auditions.*

  • Live-Virtual Auditions will take place live, online on Feb. 3. There must be at least one recruiter present from your program for the full day of live-virtual auditions. There are NO same-day callbacks; Contact Later only.*
  • Fullerton Auditions will take place Feb. 6-7 in a hybrid format (in-person for candidates and member universities, *live stream available for members unable to attend in-person). There will be NO in-person callbacks. There must be at least one recruiter present from your program for the full audition days on both days of the Fullerton auditions.*

  • The URTA auditions will take place on campus at CSU Fullerton. Callbacks will take place on Zoom and must occur off campus. URTA has a discounted room block available at a hotel walking distance from the auditions, which recruiters are invited to utilize. Hotel room block info and booking links will be included in the faculty packet received after registration. We encourage you to book early, as we cannot extend the room block once filled.

  • Important Note: Programs must have at least one recruiter present from their program for the FULL day at ALL audition days in the city/cities they’re registered to attend. A full day starts at check-in, through auditions, and callbacks. Recruiting responsibilities may be shared among multiple colleagues. 

    Failure to participate fully on all days of the URTA Auditions, as committed by your program's registration, creates an unfair experience for prospective candidates and negatively impacts the URTA event. As such, failure to comply with these commitments may impact your school’s ability to recruit at the URTAs in the future.

  • Directing / Stage Management / Arts Leadership

    All interviews for this event are pre-scheduled in advance based on recruiter requests that are submitted to URTA after reviewing candidate materials on Acceptd. All participants will attend interviews live, online via Zoom (Zoom meetings must be set and hosted by the school). No travel is required, but participants will need stable internet and a device with audio & video capabilities. *Note: The URTAs are a full day commitment and we will not be accepting time constraint requests/conflicts for interview scheduling.
  • Arts Leadership recruiting will take place live, online (via Zoom) on Jan. 9 & 10. There must be at least one recruiter present from your program on BOTH days of Live-Virtual Arts Leadership Interviews.*

Your interview requests and subsequent personal interview schedule created/sent by URTA are a commitment to meet with the URTA candidates as scheduled during the event.

    Failure to participate fully on all days of the URTA recruiting in a discipline area, as committed by your program's registration and your interview requests/schedule, creates an unfair experience for prospective candidates and negatively impacts the URTA event. As such, failure to comply with these commitments may impact your school’s ability to recruit at the URTAs in the future.

    URTA offers a variety of educational programming throughout the year, such as continuing education workshops at the URTAs, and career outreach sessions with undergrads and intern groups, as well as at national conferences. The expertise of URTA member faculty is an invaluable part of this programming - with faculty sitting on panels, offering workshops, and participating in Q&As with young artists.

  • Excellence Awards

    URTA is pleased to offer the URTA Excellence Awards in Undergraduate Training, an award to recognize coaches/instructors for their excellence in training and preparation of theatre artists. Volunteers are needed every year to serve as adjudicators for the Excellence Awards. During the URTAs, teams of adjudicators review the work and preparation of candidates who named a coach/mentor to be considered for the Excellence Awards. Selecting yes below is just an indication of interest in serving as an adjudicator. URTA staff will reach out to selected individuals with more information closer to the 2027 URTAs.

  • Directing Feedback

    URTA is committed to continually enhancing the candidate and recruiter experience each year. As part of the 2027 URTAs, we are offering application and portfolio feedback to Directing candidates who do not receive interview requests, with the goal of supporting their ongoing development and encouraging them to reapply in the future.

    In order to offer this opportunity, we would greatly appreciate directing faculty consider volunteering. Feedback can be provided via email or Zoom (however you prefer). URTA will assign you a candidate (or candidates) who did not receive any interview requests, so that you have time to revist their application and portfolio prior to connecting with them to offer feedback. We are aiming to keep the burden of time minimal for each faculty member providing feedback, and the more volunteers we receive, the more easily that can be achieved.

    The design/technology, directing, stage management, and arts leadership recruiting events are comprised of pre-scheduled interviews, created from recruiters' interview requests submitted to URTA in advance of the event. Your interview requests and subsequent personal interview schedule created and sent by URTA are a commitment to meet with the candidates as scheduled during the event.

    For all disciplines, failure to participate fully on all days of the URTA recruiting in a discipline area, as committed by your program's registration and your interview requests/schedule, creates an unfair experience for prospective candidates and negatively impacts the URTA event. As such, failure to comply with these commitments may impact your school’s ability to recruit at the URTAs in the future.

    The URTAs are full-day events with interviews taking place throughout the day. Due to the large number of participants and interview requests, we are unable to accommodate individual recruiter scheduling conflicts or time constraints. Recruiting duties may be shared among your faculty, but there must be a representative present to cover the full day of interviews on all recruiting days in all disciplines/focus areas your program committed to recruit in at the 2027 URTAs.

  • URTA Recruitment Commitment:

    There must be at least one recruiter present from your program for the full day on all days of recruiting in the area(s) for which your program is registered to recruit. While duties may be shared among your faculty, programs should plan accordingly to make sure there is a representative from your school present to cover the full day of recruiting on all recruiting days in all discipline/focus areas that your school has committed to attend. Programs must ensure that these individual recruiters have registered themselves via this Individual Recruiter Registration form by no later than December 1, 2026.

    Registering yourself as a recruiter at the 2027 URTAs for the dates/events indicated in this individual member registration form is a commitment to participate and fulfill your program's commitment to recruit (as outlined in your program's registration). A failure to participate fully in the URTA Auditions & Interviews as scheduled is considered a failure to uphold this commitment and may impact your school's ability to recruit at the URTAs in the future.
