PHOTOGRAPH PERMISSION AND RELEASE AGREEMENT
Project Title: Greenville County: A Pictorial History, 2nd Edition (“the Book”)
Author / Publisher: Shannon E. Woodward (“Publisher”)
1. Grant of Rights
I, the undersigned (“Contributor”), grant the Publisher a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, crop, resize, restore, print, and distribute the photograph(s) described above (the “Photographs”).
This license covers publication in:
● Print editions of the Book (hardcover, paperback, or future reprints).
● Digital editions (e-books, digital archives).
● Promotional and marketing materials related directly to the Book, including but not limited to social media posts and merchandise.
2. Ownership of Original Material
The Contributor retains all copyright and underlying ownership of the Photographs. Nothing in this agreement transfers full copyright ownership to the Publisher.
3. Warranties and Authority
The Contributor confirms and warrants that:
● They are the sole copyright owner of the Photographs, or have received the legal authority to grant these rights on behalf of the copyright owner or family estate.
● The Photographs do not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, privacy, or property rights of any third party.
● Anyone recognizable in the Photographs (or their legal guardian, if minor/deceased where applicable) has not objected to public historical publication.
4. Attribution / Credit Line
The Publisher agrees to use reasonable efforts to credit the Contributor in the Book’s image credits or index with the attribution submitted.
5. Consideration
The Contributor acknowledges that this release is made voluntarily for historical and educational preservation. No monetary royalties, fees, or commissions are owed to the Contributor.
