CITY OF CORONADO | CULTURAL ARTS

Program Overview: The Orange Avenue Nonprofit Banner Program provides Coronado-based nonprofit organizations the opportunity to showcase their community events, programs, and missions through professionally produced banners displayed along Orange Avenue. Participation is free of charge, thanks to funding from Discover Coronado through a Community Enhancement Grant.

Eligibility: To participate, applicants must:

• Be a registered 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) located within the City of Coronado
• Offer a program, service, or event that benefits the Coronado community
• Agree to follow all design, review, and production guidelines
• Submit application and artwork by the posted deadline

• Final banner dimensions: 30” wide × 96” tall (vertical orientation)
• Each pole displays two banner panels — banners must be double-sided with identical information on both sides
• Each 30” × 96” panel may feature different but complementary content, or the two panels may be combined to form a larger continuous design (split down the middle)
• Any text must be fully contained within each individual panel for readability. Split words or letters will not be approved
• Artwork files must be high resolution and created at a minimum of 25% of actual size (7.5” wide × 24” tall)
• Required file format: PDF (for review and printing)
• No business advertising or web addresses
• Logos must be placed exclusively within the upper or lower thirds of the banner. The total footprint of the logo must not exceed 5% of the total banner area
• Do not include dates or time-sensitive information; artwork should remain relevant throughout the entire display period.
• Bright, high-contrast colors encouraged for readability

You are not required to attach your artwork at the time of submitting this application. If your artwork is still in progress, you may submit your application first and provide final artwork later.

However, all final artwork files must be submitted via email to arts@coronado.ca.us no later than January 8, 2027.

Applications without artwork received by this deadline will be considered incomplete and ineligible for review.

If you are uploading artwork now, please attach your files below. If you plan to submit later, please indicate that your artwork will be emailed separately by the deadline.

Reminder: If submitting multiple design concepts for consideration, please indicate design preference or rank order.

When uploading or emailing files, please use the following naming convention:
OrganizationName_PreferenceNumber

I have read and understand the Hold Harmless Agreement Policy Agreement:

For and in consideration of the City of Coronado to use the location of Orange Avenue Banners as outlined in the Policy for the use of having light pole banners. Applicant hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Coronado for claims arising out of or resulting from the permission granted by the City of Coronado for this permit. The City of Coronado will not be responsible for any damage or theft occurring to the banners.

By signing below, the applicant agrees to:

• Comply with all Orange Avenue Banner Program Policies and Guidelines
• Authorize the City of Coronado to produce and install banners on the organization’s behalf.
• Understand that final banner allocations and selections are subject to review and determination by the Banner Committee, Cultural Arts Commission, and City Council.
• Acknowledge and agree to the Hold Harmless Agreement as outlined above, releasing the City of Coronado from any liability for damage, loss, or theft of banners.
