Business of the Year: Recognizes a business that greatly influences the economic growth and success of the Laverne community.

Good Neighbor Award: For someone who represents what being a good neighbor is all about- checking on others, helping during difficult times, and looking out for the community

Hometown Hero Award: Recognizes someone who has made a significant difference through service, leadership, courage, or dedication.

Educator of the Year Award: For a teacher, administrator, coach, counselor, or school employee who has made an exceptional impact on students and families.

Community Organization of the Year Award: For a club, nonprofit, church group, civic organization, or other group that has made an exceptional impact to the community.

Young Community Leader Award: An individual who is a current elementary, middle school, or high school student who has made an impact through leadership, volunteering, school activities, athletics, service projects, or helping others

The selection committee will be provided with the name of the nominee, category, and answers to the above questions. This is the only information that will be used by the selection committee members. Members will individually rank the nominees in each category and submit their scores. Scores will be combined from all selection committee members to determine the recipient of each award. The selection committee is made up of 5 individuals from outside Harper County who do not know the nominees or who the other committee members are to ensure there is no personal bias or influence from other members.
