“Key of We” is a new ensemble that will be part of the Southeastern District Senior Festival with a strong focus on accessibility, peer collaboration, and creative expression through music. This unique event brings together students of all abilities to create, rehearse, and perform choral music in a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment.

How to Choose the Best Candidates for “Key of We”

When selecting students to participate, please consider individuals who would benefit from and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative musical environment. The goal is to create a supportive space where every student can experience success, growth, and joy through music-making.

Consider the following:
- Accessibility and participation: Is this student able to participate comfortably in a full rehearsal period that includes singing, social interaction, and team-building activities? Support and flexibility will be provided to meet individual needs.
- Love of music: Do you have a student who demonstrates a deep enthusiasm for singing or music but may find traditional audition processes challenging or inaccessible? This festival is designed to honor and include those voices.
- Peer support: Does this student have a natural peer connection in your choir—a classmate who shows empathy, patience, and leadership—who could serve as a supportive peer mentor throughout the festival experience?
- Social and emotional growth: Could this experience help the student build confidence, independence, or a stronger sense of belonging through music and community?
