We will be selecting runners who have an extensive network and can commit to a strong minimum fundraising commitment, as well as a plan to surpass that commitment. SLM sets its fundraising minimums based on the average amount raised by all charity program runners from the previous year. The fundraising minimum plays a vital role in keeping our team part of the Boston Marathon each year. Nonprofits must demonstrate strong fundraising results to remain in the program, and teams whose runners don’t meet their minimums risk losing their bibs in future years.
This year, SLM has set the fundraising minimum at $20,000 per runner.
