Key Highlights:

Applications are subject to pre-selection. Up to 60 finalist entries may be selected.

Each person may enter once: either as a Solo entrant or as part of one Group.

Groups may have 2–5 members. Every member must be registered.

Acts must present a clear story or structured concept. Walking and posing alone do not meet the main competition’s performance requirements.

Solo acts are limited to 1 minute 30 seconds; Group acts are limited to 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Costumes must come from published works such as anime, manga, or games. Original characters and previously winning costumes are not eligible.

All entries must follow UAE laws, family-friendly standards, and event safety rules.

Finalists must complete all required evidence, progress posts, final files, and event-day obligations.

Competition Divisions:

The applicant’s selected Entry Category and Competition Division cannot be changed after submission. ANIMENIA may review the application and confirm or reclassify the Competition Division where necessary.

Championship Division: At least 80% of the final major visible costume elements must be made by the entrant or registered Group members. Applicants must submit a craft declaration, private WIP evidence, and a verification video.

Performance Division: Self-made, purchased, commissioned, or tailor-made costumes are allowed. The source and maker must be declared. Applicants must submit a brief written description of the planned performance and one video showing their performance ability, either a short audition of the proposed act or a previous performance video.

Judging Overview:

Championship Division: Craftsmanship (100 points) + Performance (100 points).

Performance Division: Performance only (100 points).

Craftsmanship considers accuracy, construction quality, technique and complexity, creativity, and innovation.

Performance considers storytelling, character portrayal, stage execution, creativity, and impact.
