SUBMERGE

As the days shorten and darken, we descend into the depth and decay of autumn. Submerge invites us into the medicine of movement to guide us through this time. This dance series is a fundraiser for season 2 of the Somos Semillas, We Are Seeds podcast about Indigenous sovereignty and collective storytelling. Inspired by season 1, and our ancestral wisdom, Submerge will move us from ether to water, earth, fire, and winds.

Each class will include grounding and warm up, expand into guided movement and freestyle, and close with restorative practice. We'll leave time to reflect and share. No dance experience necessary. All levels warmly encouraged to join.

Please accompany us in raising $6,000 to produce season 2 of Somos Semillas, We Are Seeds by participating in the dance series, making a contribution, and sharing this with your communities!

We received abundant support for season one, and are calling on our communities again to support us for season two.

About your instructors: You may know nicky as a visual artist and Cat as an audio producer. Both are seasoned dancers and instructors, and are deeply excited to be sharing their roots as dancers for this offering. In fact, Cat and nicky met on the dancefloor in Huchiun many years ago. They each bring their storytelling, creativity, imaginations, and years of embodied practice to this series, and cannot wait to share this part of their work with you.

ACCESS INFO: There is a small flight of stairs up to the building. Masks optional. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell or if you have known exposure to contagious illness.
