Ginger's operates on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We're grateful to gather here and committed to learning and doing better in how we honour that. Before you start: this is a volunteer role, same as volunteering at a Pride event or with any charitable organisation. There's no financial compensation, but you'll get a free ticket, free accommodation, free actually incredible meals, a Ranger patch, and a spot at the Ginger's Party.

What we ask of every Ranger
People come to Ginger's from all kinds of backgrounds and cultures, and everyone deserves to feel comfortable and safe here. As a Camp Ranger, part of your job is noticing when someone might be feeling unsafe, unwelcome, or excluded, and adjusting how you show up accordingly, without making it about you or needing credit for it. This matters in particular for our First Nations and BIPOC attendees, who often carry real experiences of racism, exclusion, or mistreatment by institutions and groups, including within queer spaces. We expect you to listen, take it seriously, and not get defensive if something's raised with you.

Ginger's is a space for the whole rainbow community, including trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people. As a Camp Ranger, that might mean gently correcting a misgendering, or just being a warm, steady presence for someone. How does that sit with you?

What happens if you're selected
Once we've reviewed all applications, we'll be in touch to let you know either way. If you're chosen as a Ranger, we'll send you some resources ahead of camp and run a Zoom catch-up with all Rangers beforehand, so you know what to expect and feel prepared going in.

Please only apply if you're genuinely available for the full weekend and committed to showing up, we're relying on our Rangers to make this camp happen for everyone else.
