Capacity: The Museum can only accommodate a maximum of 40 students at one time, per fire code. If your group is larger than this, we recommend rotating groups with an outdoor activity like lunch or a tour of the Arboretum.
Outdoor activities: Arboretum tours complement our Pioneer Life tour particularly well. You can schedule an Arborteum tour through the Kinnikinick Native Plant Society or self-guide.
Lunch: Many school groups bring sack lunches and eat lunch at the adjacent Lakeview Park playground. The playground can also provide a recess break for students.
Buses: The Museum parking lot is usually full of visitor and volunteer vehicles, but there is ample space to park a bus along Ella or Ontario streets. Buses are welcome to use the Museum parking lot for drop-off and pick-up.
Restrooms: The Museum has only two individual bathrooms. For groups of more than 20 students, we will request that the City of Sandpoint opens the public restrooms in the park for your use.
