Los Angeles Times High School Insider fosters a community of young readers, thinkers and storytellers to amplify and develop their voices on the issues that matter. We are committed to empowering a generation of young people to actively seek out, engage in and support a productive public discourse that will create a better future for us all. The foundation of High School Insider is a user-generated content website where young people from around Southern California, across the country and even throughout the world can share the stories that matter to them. Beyond a platform, we also create opportunities for young people to develop their writing, media literacy and multimedia skills, connect with L.A. Times staff and immerse themselves in the field of journalism.
I, as parent/guardian of the student named below, hereby grant permission to my student's school (the “School”) and the Los Angeles Times and its affiliates, assigns, parents, agents, and licensees (the “Times Parties”) for my son/daughter to participate in the user-generated content project known as the Los Angeles Times High School Insider. I further grant permission for my son/daughter to upload his/her videos, photographs, writings, and other materials (“UGC Materials”) in accordance with Terms of Service and PrivacyPolicy for the Los Angeles Times and its parent, California Times. I acknowledge that my child and I have had the opportunity to review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy both in the PDFs sent to me via email and at https://www.latimes.com/about/la-termsofservice20180627-story.html and https://www.latimes.com/about/la-privacypolicy-20180703-story.html . I agree that my son/daughter will adhere to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy when uploading UGC Materials and otherwise participating in the Los Angeles Times High School Insider.
On behalf of my son/daughter, I acknowledge that I will make no claims against the Times Parties or the School arising from my son’s/daughter’s participation in the Los Angeles Times High School Insider, including without limitation any claims with respect to personal injury, intellectual property rights (including, e.g. copyright(s)), rights of publicity or privacy.
