  • Volunteer Code of Conduct

    All volunteers represent Forget Me Not Animal Rescue at all times. This includes foster homes, adoption events, transport, online activity, and interactions within the community. Volunteers are expected to uphold the rescue's mission, values, and standards of professionalism.

  • General Conduct

    Volunteers must treat all people and animals with respect, kindness, and professionalism. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Volunteers must follow all rescue policies, procedures, and leadership direction. Conflicts, concerns, or problems should be reported through proper rescue channels. Volunteers should maintain honesty, integrity, and accountability in all rescue activities.

  • Animal Care & Welfare

    Animals must always be handled humanely, safely, and compassionately. Volunteers may not use physical punishment, intimidation, or harmful training methods. Medical care, treatment, and transport decisions must be approved by the rescue. Animals must not be given away, rehomed, or transferred without rescue authorization. Animal safety and well-being always come before convenience or personal preference.

  • Fostering Conduct

    Fosters agree to follow all rescue protocols regarding care, feeding, isolation, and medical instructions. Fosters must not expose foster animals to unauthorized people, animals, or public spaces. All health concerns must be reported promptly to the rescue. Foster animals may not attend events, public spaces, or visits without rescue approval. Fosters represent the rescue and must communicate respectfully with adopters and the public.

  • Event & Adoption Conduct

    Volunteers must act professionally at all events and represent the rescue positively. Animals must be handled safely and monitored at all times. Volunteers must follow event procedures, adoption policies, and leadership direction. No volunteer may promise adoptions, placements, or outcomes without authorization. Volunteers must maintain a calm, respectful presence even in stressful situations.

  • Community & Public Representation

    Volunteers represent Forget Me Not Animal Rescue in the community and online. Public communication must remain respectful, accurate, and aligned with rescue values. Volunteers may not speak on behalf of the rescue without permission. Social media posts must not disclose confidential information or misrepresent the rescue. Disagreements or concerns should never be handled publicly.

  • Confidentiality

    Volunteer and adopter information must remain confidential. Medical, intake, and internal rescue information may not be shared without permission. Private rescue matters must not be discussed publicly or online.

  • Compliance

    Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in corrective action, suspension, or removal from the rescue program. Forget Me Not Animal Rescue reserves the right to revoke volunteer privileges at any time to protect the safety of animals, volunteers, and the organization. By volunteering with Forget Me Not Animal Rescue, individuals agree to uphold these standards and act in a manner that reflects the mission and values of the organization.

  • Volunteer Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement

  • I am fully aware of the risks and hazards connected with volunteering my time and efforts with Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue (FMN, FMNAR) including physical injury or even death, and hereby elect to volunteer my time and effort, knowing that the associated physical activity may be hazardous to me and my property. I VOLUNTARILY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISKS OR LOSS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PERSONAL INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH, that may be sustained by me, or loss or damage to property owned by me, as a result of volunteering my time and efforts.

    I hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE, Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue (FMN, FMNAR) their officers, servants, agents, and employees (hereinafter referred to as RELEASEES) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, while participating in physical activity, or while on or upon the premises of Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue (FMN, FMNAR).

    It is my expressed intent that this release and hold harmless agreement shall bind the members of my family, spouse, if I am alive, and my heirs, assigns and personal representative, if I am deceased, and shall be deemed as a RELEASE, WAIVER, DISCHARGE, and COVENANT NOT TO SUE the above named RELEASEES. I hereby further agree that this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement shall be constructed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois.

    In signing this release, I acknowledge and represent that I HAVE READ THE FOREGOING Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement, UNDERSTAND IT AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY as my own free act and deed; no oral representations, statements or inducements, apart from foregoing written agreements, have been made: and I EXECUTE THIS RELEASE FOR FULL, ADEQUATE AND COMPLETE CONSIDERATION FULLY INTENDING TO BE BOUND BY SAME.
